The overall purpose of the project is to help George’s gyms expand its business in two different areas, which would be the health bar and the supplementing manufacturing, and the children’s fitness. The first problem the project is trying to resolve is identifying the objectives of the new business complying with SMART principles (Atkinson, 1999). The next problem the project to solve is creating a catchy and domain name for the new business. The project will also discuss the renovation of the George’s gyms and re-thinking the menu to cater for children’s tastes.
In this project, cost will be a great problem if Marika and George want expand their business. It will cost them a great deal of money to acquire 4U (Burke, 2003). Although it did not provide in this assignment the cost of acquiring of 4U, it is obvious that the price of 4U would be expensive. Geroge’s gyms will also spend another sum of money on purchasing equipment for children.
The second problem would be lack of experience in pharmaceutical and food industries cause neither of Marica and Geogre have relevant experience. Although George has a science degree, it does not mean he is an expert in that area. George is over optimistic about the future situation. It will be difficult for them to do business in a world which they are not familiar with.
The least thing to worry about is the Morale at gyms and in 4U. Because of the consolidation of the two organizations, it will create communication difficulties for employees between the two companies. It may affect the morale of the new George’s gyms to some extent. However, it will not affect the morale of the new business for a long time.
