    THE ESSAY (25%):
This assignment is a written component in the form of a 1000 word essay that builds
upon the learnings and understandings developed and undertaken throughout this
subject. This is worth 25% of your overall mark.
    ESSAY TOPIC/TASK:
The essay will be an examination of a single Still Life painting of your choice
from the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Victoria.
The painting must be viewed on site (in person) and the essay can be
illustrated with your own photographs of the actual work. Please refer to the
    NGV’s photography guidelines, available here:
    https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/about/reports-and-documents/19357-2/
As well as placing the work in an historical context, the majority of the text
should be an examination and analysis of the painting using the knowledge
and terminology acquired from the practical component of the course of
    study.
Make sure that you make use of the information you have accumulated in
your visual diary (including your glossary), as well as lecture notes and other
    research undertaken.
    DUE DATE:
Submit via Turnitin by 11pm Wednesday 19th October.
