Written Report & Presentation
Submission Details:
The Assessment Task is due on the date specified by your trainer. Any variations to this
arrangement must be approved in writing by your trainer.
See procedure and task specifications below for details.
You must submit both printed copy and soft copy of your answers.
Submit the printed copy of required evidences (your answers) to your Trainer with the
"Assessment Cover Sheet" (Filled out and signed appropriately) attached on top of your
documents.
Upload the softcopy on the link provide in the eLearning site.
The Trainer/Assessor may further prompt and question in order to receive answers of
appropriate quality or if further clarification required and to validate authenticity of your
submitted work.
Assessment Description
There are two parts in the assessment. In first part you are required to review a number
of documents of a fictitious company’s performance management system and prepare a
report as specified below. You must read all documents critically and can make some
assumptions (approved by trainer) in the process of completing all tasks. In second part,
you are required to present the report in power point slides.

Task Specifications
You are required to read following documents of ABC Company which would be
handed out by the trainer:
Supporting Documents:
1. Company’s strategic direction
-Provides information on company’s goal, vision, mission etc.
2. Company’s Performance review policy and procedures
-Provides information on company’s performance management, monitoring and
documenting policy
3. Company’s Separation/Termination: Misconduct & Performance
-Misconduct and terminating staff policy and procedures
4. Performance review report 1
-Official review of performance of one underperforming employee
5. Performance review report 2
-Official review of performance of one outstanding performing employee
6. Performance feedback
- An e-mail from a department General manager to HR General manager about
terminating one underperforming employee.
Part 1- Report
Write a report of approximately 2000 words covering following topics:
• Reflect on the performance management and review system of the company, all
aspects of the system must be addressed and analysed
Which may include:
- Overall performance management system of the company and designing of the
system
-Alignment between organisational goal and performance management system

Which may include:
-How performance measurement is conducted, need to provide clear overall
picture of the procedure
-Feedback procedures both formal and informal, examples need to be included

Which may include:
- Documenting both performance and feedback for individual staff
- Usage of these documents for further improvements or actions

• Overview of performance improvements and development plans
Which may include:
-Providing assistance to staff (e.g. supporting staff or development sessions)
-Coaching and monitoring staff (e.g. counseling)
-Discussion on performance indicators and performance standards

Which may include:
-Following organisation’s policy and fulfilling legal requirements
-Termination process of the company (the given example need to be discussed
clearly)

● Assessment in a report format with a introduction and conclusion.
● All writing need to be relevant with documents.

● All sections need to be identified with clear headings.
● All sections need to be addressed in the specific manner as outlined in task
specifications.
Part 2- Presentation:
A summary of the report need to be presented (no more than 15 slides) in the classroom
in power point slides:
• The presentation duration should not be more than 15 minutes
• Questions will be asked by the trainer about presentation
• All slides need to be have clear headings
• Slides need to be presented in professional manner (with font size, designing,
theme etc.)
