Assessment Description.
Finding a suitable position which one is qualified for is not an easy task. It takes long hours of research, effective job search skills and perseverance to
embark on this journey. During your first few weeks of Foundations of Workplace Success you will be learning how to put these skills to good practice and
now we would like you to show what you have learned by pretending you are applying for an actual job.
Assessment Details:
Find an advertisement for a job you would like to apply for. Write a cover letter and resume with which to apply for this job. Later attach the job
advertisement to your cover letter and resume when submitting Assignment 1.
(You will also need to research about the company advertising to hire and write a one page summary which you will find useful in tailoring your
job application with and you also be using this summary document in Assessment 2 – Mock Interview).

Assignment Submission
The report files must be submitted by due date as a ‘PDF’ document to avoid any technical issues that may occur from incorrect file format upload.
Uploaded files with a virus will not be considered as a legitimate submission and regular penalties will apply.
The Turnitin system will notify you if there is any issue within submitted file.
In this case you must contact your lecturer via email immediately and provide a brief description of the issue and a screen shot of the Turnitin
message.
Students are also encouraged to submit their work well in advance of the time deadline to avoid any possible delay with Turnitin similarity report
generation or any other technical difficulties that may arouse.
Late assignment submission penalties
Penalties will be imposed on late assignment submissions in accordance with Kaplan Business School “late assignment submission penalties’ policy.

1 - 9 days 5% per day for each calendar day late deducted from the allocated
marks of the assignment.
10 - 14 days 50% deducted from the allocated marks of the assignment.
After 14 days Assignments that are submitted more than 14 calendar days after the
due date will not be accepted and the student will receive a mark of zero
for the assignment(s).
Note Notwithstanding the above penalty rules, assignments will also be given
a mark of zero if they are submitted after assignments have been
returned to students
.
