    This  task  is  due  5pm  12  April 
    The  purpose  of  this  assignment  is  to  create  a  short  but  comprehensive  three-­‐year 
    business  plan  for  a  new  for-­‐profit  business  venture.  This  plan  will  then  be  analysed 
    by  your  peers  in  Assessment  Task  2. 
    The  plan  should  be  a  maximum  of  8  pages,  including  financial  information  as  per 
    below.  ANY  MATERIAL  BEYOND  THE  PAGE  LIMIT  WILL  NOT  BE  MARKED.  
    Each  plan  must  contain  the  following  elements: 
    1/  The  business  opportunity  [max  2  pages] 
    2/  The  sales  and  marketing  strategy  [max  2  pages] 
    3/  The  operational  strategy  [max  2  pages] 
    4/  The  financial  plans  [max  2  pages] 
    The  plan  should  also  be  presented  in  a  logical  and  appealing  manner. 
    Students  are  expected  to  spend  approximately  16  hours  on  this  task,  given  that  most 
    of  the  material  will  have  been  prepared  by  completing  tutorials  1-­‐6.  
    The  assignment  will  be  marked  by  tutors. 
    Assignments  should  be  submitted  online  via  iLearn  and  a  copy  brought  to  class  for 
    review. 
    IMPORTANT  NOTICE:  Your  business  plan  will  be  available  to  your  student  peers,  as 
    well  as  staff  of  Macquarie  University.  If  you  have  a  business  idea  that  you  wish  to 
    keep  confidential  DO  NOT  submit  this  idea  as  part  of  this  unit.  Macquarie  University 
    accepts  no  liability  for  cases  where  a  business  plan  submitted  by  one  student  is 
    subsequently  executed  by  another  student. 
    The  quality  of  each  component  will  be  marked  in  accordance  with  a  rubric  which

    The  objective  of  this  assignment  is  to  evaluate  the  business  plans  of  four  of  your 
    peers.  
    The  task  is  to  be  performed  in  groups  of  four  and  has  individual  and  group  tasks  as 
    follows: 
    The  report  should  be  a  maximum  of  12  pages  as  indicated  below.  ANY  MATERIAL 
    BEYOND  THE  PAGE  LIMIT  WILL  NOT  BE  MARKED.  
    You  are  required  to  [max  4  pages  for  this  section]: 
    • Provide  an  overall  analysis  of  the  quality  of  the  four  business  plans  (group 
    task).  
    • How  you  would  split  your  investment  capital  of  $100,000  between  the  four 
    business  plans  and  an  explanation  justifying  your  decision  (group  task)  
    Provide  a  detailed  report  comparing   and  evaluating  each  of  the  following 
    components  for  each  of  the  plans: 
    1/  The  business  opportunity  (individual  task  by  group  member  1)  [max  2  pages]
